WHY AND HOW TO GO PUBLIC WITH YOUR FAITH

Matthew 28:18-20 

"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

There’s a few different ways that you can go public with your faith. Through Baptism, by sharing a testimony of what God is doing in your life, or by declaring your intentions to lead your home in light of your faith in Jesus through Child dedication.

BAPTISM INFORMATION

After Jesus died on the cross for the sin of the world, was raised to life and just before he ascended to heaven he said “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  (Matthew 28:18-20)

Jesus gave very clear instructions to his disciples to go and make more disciples. A disciple is someone who embraces the teaching of Jesus, including the part about making more disciples. They receive the teaching and then live their lives according to it. They are obedient to it. One of the key signs of being a disciple of Jesus is baptism.

If you are brand new to faith in Jesus, or are a Christian who has not been baptized, you should be baptized! Through it you will be blessed, because there is always blessing in obedience!

Baptism is about going public with your faith in Jesus. It is a way of identifying with Jesus’ death and resurrection. Throughout the New Testament people believed and were immediately baptized. These baptisms were often followed by an encounter with the Holy Spirit.
